Because many parents want official images of their family, families often hire a photographer, snap pictures together, and smile for the camera.
Christmas is usually a pretty happy season, what with all the smiles that you see all the time. But because of one extremely terrifying detail, a family portrait is making people on the internet extremely uncomfortable.
Do you recognize it? We don’t hold it against you because it’s easy to miss. Here’s a hint: glance to the left of the image.

If you haven’t already, take a closer look at the younger child’s arm. To be precise, whose hand is on it?
Many different people have come up with various theories on the phantom arm.
The first is that the hand belongs to a ghost. Whether or not you think of the spiritual world, it does seem to evoke some kind of supernatural belief.
A bit more grounded in reality is the second. Some individuals believe that the mother’s arm is truly visible and that the middle, older child was artificially added to the image using a sophisticated computer program.
After taking another look, you may decide for yourself.
