It is said that a good divorce is preferable to a poisonous marriage, yet many resentful couples frequently overlook the fact that their children bear the brunt of their unhappy relationship.
Although Shannon Wilfong and Michael Chekevdia were aware of their frequent arguments, they chose to be married when they found out they were going to have children. Despite their shared belief that marriage would be beneficial, their fights grew increasingly acrimonious after the birth of their son. Consequently, they made the decision to end their marriage.
Unfortunately, their divorce was even worse than their tumultuous reunion. Richard “Ricky” Chekevdia, their son, was the subject of an argument between the two. In the end, the judge decided to give Shannon custody, and Michael was allowed to visit. Michael dragged Shannon to court because she refused to allow him see his son.

Shannon failed to show up on the day she was scheduled to appear before the judge. No one was able to locate her or Ricky after they vanished.
It soon became clear that she had abducted her son and fled. After a comprehensive search and the issuance of an arrest warrant, Shannon and Ricky just disappeared.
Then, Michael was accused of being violent with his kid by Shannon’s mother, Diane Dobbs. She posted signs about him being an abuser across her yard and branded him a liar.
Diane’s house was also searched, although everyone believed that neither her daughter nor her grandson were present.

Michael said Diane knew where Shannon and Ricky were two years after they vanished, so her home was searched once more. This time, a wood dresser pressed against the wall caught the attention of the cops. After moving it, they discovered a secret door that opened into a room that was twelve feet long, five feet wide, and four feet high. They noticed Ricky and Shannon in that room.
Diane had always concealed her daughter.

Diane was arrested for aiding Shannon, who was arrested for kidnapping the child.
Shannon stated in court that Ricky had a good time at Diane’s house and was allowed to do anything he wanted, but the neighbors claimed they had never seen the youngster outside.
The cops claim that Ricky was relieved to be allowed out of the automobile.
Shannon ultimately entered a guilty plea in 2011 and was only sentenced to two years of probation and a $1,500 fine.
However, after his name was exonerated of Diane’s charges, Michael was granted custody of his kid.
