With its fantastical plot and remarkable performances, the captivating movie “Pretty Woman” made a deep impression. Not everyone is aware of the fascinating backstage tales, even if many fans may still remember the famous scene where Richard Gere’s character, Edward, overcomes his fear of heights to save Julia Roberts’ character, Vivian.

Other well-known actors may have played the part of Edward, which Richard Gere did a fantastic job portraying. It’s interesting to note that, despite Gere’s initial skepticism, Julia Roberts was the one who encouraged him to accept this classic position. Charles Grodin was a prominent contender.

Long-kept mysteries and intriguing anecdotes about “Pretty Woman” surfaced at a special reunion of the actors in 2015, which enhanced the film’s allure. This romantic comedy, which combines romance, humor, and an enthralling plot, has won hearts all over the world since its 1990 premiere.

The movie’s blooper reel, which revealed amusing moments shared by the actors and crew, was recently made available to fans as a rare gift. These outtakes provide a fun glimpse of the joy and camaraderie that occurred during filming, capturing awkward moments and unanticipated errors. Watch the video below for a sneak peek at these endearing moments:

One particularly memorable blunder shows Julia Roberts straining to remain composed in a pivotal moment. Roberts and her co-star Richard Gere both chuckle as a result of her endearing giggles, which reaffirm the sincere chemistry that made “Pretty Woman” a classic.

Possible Stars for Edward Lewis

Actors including Christopher Reeve, Denzel Washington, and Daniel Day-Lewis were considered for the role of Edward before Richard Gere took it on. Similarly, it was rumored that actresses like Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, and Sandra Bullock were considered for the role of Vivian but eventually passed.

The wardrobe combined simplicity and luxury.

A necklace for the movie cost an incredible $250,000 and was meticulously watched by a jewelry store security guard during production. In contrast, Vivian’s famous red coat cost only $30 and was amusingly obtained by the director from a movie theater usher shortly before production started. It’s interesting to note that, despite the movie’s success, Ferrari and Porsche both turned down the chance to have their vehicles included.

Coaching Behind the Scenes

In one scene, the director employed a hilarious technique of tickling Julia Roberts’ feet off-camera to get her to chuckle. Roberts was so anxious, though, that a vein appeared on her forehead. Because the scenario needed more assurance, the director lay next to Roberts and Richard Gere and rubbed her face until she relaxed.
