Iconic singer Dolly Parton and her goddaughter Miley Cyrus rang New Year’s Eve while co-hosting Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party. The two of them delighted everyone with a fantastic performance together.
The talented duo creates a fantastic musical mashup at the Miami bash. First, Cyrus sings the hit number “Wrecking Ball” from her album Bangerz. Then, however, Parton hums the lyrics of “I will always want you” and suddenly starts to sing the beautiful track in her beautiful & soft voice.
Cyrus, 30, and Parton, 76, blend their voices together. Everyone in the crowd starts to sing with the talented singer. However, Parton’s rendition of her song, “I will always love you,” still feels fresh.
Parton recorded this song in 1973 about her collaborator and business partner Porter Wagoner when she began her solo journey. Almost 20 years later, Whitney Houston sang this song for the movie, “The Bodyguard,” in 1992. This song version became a smash hit, and Houston received a Grammy.
It is the first time Cyrus performs the song “I Will Always Love You” with her godmother. However, it’s certainly not the first time the two talented singers shared space on stage.
Cyrus and Parton have performed together on numerous occasions, including the Grammy’s in 2019 and one of the episodes of “The Voice.” She sang the hit song “Jolene” from the movie of the same name.
Several netizens posted their comments praising the duo’s performance. While one user says, “Dolly has such a gentle voice. But it’s so strong and powerful. It easily blends with Miley’s. These two need a whole album together.” The other states, “Miley is a gem, and Dolly is a legend in the music industry.
